Rustic Clayburn Village Wedding and Reception | Dominique + Aaron

I first met Dominique and Aaron last year when I photographed them for their engagement, and right away saw the amazing relationship they had together. When they told me they’d decided to hire me for their wedding, and told me that it would be at the Clayburn Village Church and Schoolhouse in Abbotsford, I was absolutely floored…this was the perfect venue for them!

Dominique and her girls got ready at her aunt’s house, while Aaron and the boys got ready 30 minutes away. The morning went by smoothly, and as always, time flies as you’re getting ready! Dominique looked stunning in her dress…everyone was excited to see Aaron’s reaction when he’d see her later.

Ceremony at Clayburn Village Church

Arriving at the ceremony, the skies were overcast with no threat of rain, which was just perfect! The church was beautifully decorated with simple lace and painted wooden signs, as guests found their seats and the ceremony began. Dominique walked down the aisle towards Aaron with her father at her side, and the ceremony was a sweet one, with beautifully written vows shared between the couple, and smiles mixed in with tears throughout the ceremony by all in attendance.

After a quick 20 minutes of family portraits out back by the giant willow tree, we drove 10 minutes down the road to a local park, which was the perfect setting for the bridal party. I loved how the yellow popped in that amazing setting!

Rustic Reception in the schoolhouse

Want an intimate and cute reception venue? Dominique and Aaron picked the perfect one! They started the reception off with a touching first dance, and then the bridesmaids shared, before dinner began. Sentimental speeches from loved ones, a slideshow, and cake cutting, the reception was a great celebration for all. I took the couple out into the elements (the rain started that evening) for a few minutes and we got some dramatic rainy photos..just perfect!

Dominique and Aaron, thank you for asking me to be your photographer, and trusting in me on your big day…I had so much fun with you and your family and friends! I hope you cherish these photos for years to come!
